John shakes hands and signs autographs after the competition.

The team showed up at 6:30am to unload "Son of a Monkey's Wrench".

Brandon and Jennifer, who joined us for the event, try to wake themselves up while Jeremy wheels the robot away.

Every team is assigned a work bench to put the final touches on their bots before the start of the show.

The combat arena was put together with bullet-proof glass and chain-link fence.

The "weigh-in station" presented the first challenge of the day...

How are we supposed to get this huge bot on that little scale?

John and Jeremy set "Son of a Monkey's Wrench" for the first match. And the removable link is in place...

  READY 2 GO!

The first challenger, "Wizard of Saws".

And the battle is on!

"Wizard" tries to grind "Monkey's" shell, but he can't get through its tough skin.

Alas, the match is over...

"Son of a Monkey's Wrench" concedes the victory to its adversary.
